NPCI has launched New Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE) platform to facilitate Direct Benefit Transfer by enabling the citizens to carry out certain activities in digital mode.

Canara Bank is also committed to providing customers with innovative and convenient banking solutions. Canara Bank announces the launch of BASE, a revolutionary new functionality package on its corporate website that simplifies and streamlines the Aadhaar seeding process.

What is Aadhaar Seeding and Why is it Important? 🔗

Aadhaar is a unique 12-digit identification number issued by the Government of India. Seeding your Aadhaar number with your bank account offers several benefits:

• Enhanced Security: Aadhaar seeding adds an extra layer of security to your bank account, making it more difficult for unauthorized transactions.
• Faster Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT): Aadhaar seeding ensures you receive government subsidies and benefits like LPG subsidies or MNREGA payments directly into your bank account efficiently.

• Aadhaar Seeding Status Check: With BASE, you can instantly check if your Aadhaar number is already seeded with your bank account. This eliminates the need to visit a branch or contact customer care for confirmation.
• Easy Aadhaar Seeding Initiation: BASE provides a user-friendly interface for initiating the Aadhaar Linking process online. Simply follow the on-screen instructions and submit the required information securely.
• Real-Time Status Tracking: Once you initiate Aadhaar linking, BASE offers real-time status tracking. You can monitor the progress and receive updates on the completion of the process.
• Manage Seeding for Multiple Accounts: Do you have multiple accounts with Canara Bank? BASE allows you to manage the Aadhaar seeding status for all your linked accounts from a single platform, saving you time and effort.

A) For Canara Bank Customers 🏦

By using Canara Bank BASE platform, the citizens can perform the following activities:

1. Check Aadhaar Seeding Status ✅
2. Aadhaar Seeding ✅
3. Aadhaar De-Seeding ✅
4. Move Aadhaar from Other Bank to Canara Bank ✅

or follow these steps:

1. Go to canarabank.com
2. Scroll to ‘CUSTOMER SERVICES’ section
3. Click on Online Aadhaar Seeding/Deseeding (For Canara Bank Customer). Upon clicking on the link, customer will be redirected to a new page.

Customer Verification

• Customer has to enter his/her Canara bank SB Account number, last 6 digits of mobile number which is linked to above account number; Enter Captcha, Click on ‘Submit’ button.
• Upon clicking on the ‘Submit’ button, OTP will be sent to customer’s registered mobile number. Customer has to enter the received OTP and click on ‘Validate OTP’ button.

Upon successful OTP validation, customer will be provided dropdown option with 3 services to choose from:

1) Check Aadhaar Seeding Status ✅

Using this service, customer can check their current status of Aadhaar linking with NPCI. Upon selecting this service, customer’s account details will be displayed on the screen.

1. Customer to click on the consent checkbox.
2. Once the check box is marked, ‘Get OTP’ button will unfreeze. Customer has to click on ‘Get OTP’ button.
3. OTP will be delivered to mobile number which is updated in customer’s Aadhaar. Customer to type the received OTP on the screen.
4. Click on ‘Get Aadhaar Status’ button.

Customer’s latest Aadhaar linking status will be fetched from NPCI and displayed on the screen.

2) Aadhaar Seeding to Canara Bank ✅

By using this service,

• Customer whose Aadhaar number is already mapped to Canara Bank can link their Aadhaar with NPCI for DBT/Scholarship purpose.
• Customer whose Aadhaar number is mapped to multiple Banks (including Canara Bank) can move their NPCI Aadhaar seeding from other Bank to Canara Bank.

• Customer to click on the consent checkbox to Seed their Aadhaar number to Canara Bank at NPCI.
• Customer to click on ‘Seed the Aadhaar with Canara Bank’ button.
• Confirmation will be displayed on the screen on the seeding status.

3) Aadhaar De-Seeding from Canara Bank ✅

By using this service, customer whose Aadhaar number is already seeded to NPCI for Canara Bank can de-seed their Aadhaar online. Upon selecting this service, customer’s account details will be displayed on the screen.

• Customer to click on the consent checkbox to De-Seed their Aadhaar number to Canara Bank at NPCI.
• Customer to click on ‘De-Seed the Aadhaar from Canara Bank’ button.
• Confirmation will be displayed on the screen on the de-seeding status.

B) For Other Bank Customers 🏛️

Only following activity is enabled on NPCI portal:

1. Check Aadhaar Seeding Status ✅
2. Aadhaar Seeding ⏳ (Coming Soon)
3. Aadhaar De-Seeding ⏳ (Coming Soon)
4. Move Aadhaar from Other Bank to Canara Bank ⏳ (Coming Soon)

To use the BASE facility, customers must click below link and follow these steps:

1. Visit the URL: https://npci.org.in
2. Navigate to the Consumer Tab
3. Select Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE)
4. Choose either to Check Aadhar Mapping Status or View Aadhaar Mapping History from the dropdown menu.

Note: To access this functionality, customers must ensure that their correct Aadhaar number and mobile number are linked to their SB account.
