Revised Procedure for Easy Submission and Verification of Documents under NFPwD Scheme

Presently, for National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities (NFPwD) scheme managed by Government of India, Ministry Of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Scholars were submitting the requisite documents to Canara Bank branches for uploading the documents in banks system. Based on the documents uploaded, fellowship was disbursed to scholars by the Bank.

Revised Guidelines

Now, as per the revised guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities vide Notification no. D.O. No. Z-6/2022-Sch. dated 11.04.2023, processing and disbursement of fellowship under NFPwD scheme is to be done only through Canara Bank’s Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP) w.e.f 01.04.2023.

As per the directions of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, w.e.f. 01.04.2023, fresh candidates under NFPwD scheme are now required to submit the requisite documents to the Nodal Officer of their respective University/Institution, who will verify and upload the documents on,

In respect of the existing scholars, continuation of fellowship will be based on verification of documents and marking of monthly continuation by the nodal officers of the respective universities/institutions. The certificates/documents from fresh Candidates will not be accepted by the branches after 31st March 2023.
